While driving back to Oconomowoc from Milwaukee, after a client meeting, I spotted this Ghost Sign, at 6th and Wisconsin Avenue. The hand painted sign advertised William Sherkow Formal Wear, a business that at one time boasted 7 locations throughout Milwaukee. I really like the graphic of the guys and gals in their formal wear in the lower right of the sign. Also painted on the back of the building is advertisement for Skelly’s Restaurant, which served breakfast, lunch, dinners, and pastries for over a century.
