You may have seen or heard about the ill effects of prolonged sitting in our daily lives. This link is from Time.com, but there many sources saying the same thing. While I exercise and I am very active, I was spending large chunks of time sitting at my desk designing signs, estimating, and making phone calls. Back in 2009, an associate of mine sent me an article about sitting and setting up a standing desk with off the shelf parts from IKEA. I have used a standing desk ever since, and I feel it has made me more energetic during the work day, and helped me meet my fitness goals. Here are some links and a picture of my standing desk.
